    Default copy a tab

    Hello,

Can anyone tell me how to create another tab that I want to call "vendors" I would like it to be like the contacts tab. How do you make a new tab or is it called module?

    Thanks

    Joe

It sounds easy but it's not. Are you a PHP programmer?

If not then find someone to help you out. It involves changes not only to the files in the module directory, but changes to relationship files and database tables and then you have to code a manifest file to install it all.

If so then start with a copy of the contacts module. Alter all the references to contacts to vendors. find the relationship files and copy/change those too. Then take that new directory and create a manifest file. Look here for documentation on manifest file, vardefs and relationship files.

    hi

thanks alot for that inside. but could u get a little more in to detail of what one has to think when "copying" the contacts module. (some kind of check list) also i dont quite know, what has to be put into the manifest.php and the documentation is as much help as i would wish.
i anyway greatly appreciate your effort writing documentations.

Are you a php programmer. There are alot of actual programming issues that a check list couldnt cover. You would actually have to change some code and edit some existing files to include your new module.

    There is alot of documentation
here for the manifest file and the vardefs stuff and the relationship files.
