Is it possible to create a lead from a monitored mailbox? I figured out how to create a case, but do not see an option for creating a lead this way.
Thanks,
David

If you're using Community Edition, then no ... but you can create them from an email client using one of the plugins in sugarforge
Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) PHP/5.2.0-8+etch11 MySQL 5.0.32
SalesAgility.com - SugarCRM Experts (UK)
Authors of Advanced OpenSales - Open Source Quotations, Invoices, Products and Contracts modules for SugarCRM Community Edition - Download here
i jUst got this working using the workflows.
But all the details from the body of the email go into description of the Lead. I want to break the body up to populate the different fields of the lead - if anyone knows how please post
to create a lead from an email you need to create your mailbox in the inbound emails and do not set possible actions to cases. create a new team and group folder. Open emails module, select your group mail folder and click setting. in folder setting make sure you team is set correctly as the setting on this folder will override the settings for inbound emails. go to workflows and create a new workflow as:
Execution Occurs: When record saved
Status: Active
Target Module: Emails
Applies to: New and Existing Records
Processing Order: Actions then Alerts
Conditions:
When a field in the target module contains a specified value Team id Equals [your team id as set for group mail folder]
Actions:
Create a new Lead
this is how i got it working anyway - hope it helps someone.
and if you know how to break up the body of the email into the lead variables please please post
thanks
