    Hello,

You have to use a flex relate field type to make a relationship between 2 new modules.

    Thanks,

I havecreated two new custom modules SubGroup and Housing Providers

Each Subgroup can have many housing providers, and each housing providers can have many sub groups.

The field to relate is SubGroup and i have created it in SubGroup module and not in HousingGroup module.
When i use flex relate field it gives a name parent _name.

In which module should i make a relationship?
    How to use parent_name field?

    Please guide me,thanks.

I would also like some help with this

I have created a new module to add job numbers

I then created a relationship to Accounts

Then I added a relate field to the module called account and that gives me the search screen and works a dream

What has me stumped is I want to be able to add a jobno to a task

I tried creating a relationship from my new module to the activities module and then went to add a relate field in Tasks but my job module is not in the module list

    How can I do this?

Sorry, the flex relate don't permit to relate 2 new modules.
If you want to do that, you may create a relationship between your 2 modules in the module builder. It create 2 subpanels (one in each module) that allows you to select SubGroup or Housing Providers

If you don't want subpanel, I have another solution to have a relate field (with popup)

Don't forget to check out: http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p...s_in_Sugar_5.0

Make sure that you have the vardef files working correctly or there will be further trouble down the road.

    Have fun, I'm not!
