creating an admin through the database

i'm setup as an administrator and when i log in the admin button isnt visible on the far right.
a past employee has setup this system for us.

and when i login and enter this at the end of the url ( ?module=Administration&action=index )
it says unauthorized access.

what settings do i put in the users table in the database??

i dont want to reinstall the application because it has been customized by a past employee (custom programmed)

The only thing that i know of is to set the is_admin column to 1. You can also do this through the front-end by checking the Administrator checkbox for a user.

the is_admin is set to 1 and for some reason it still wont work...

anyone have any idea?

ps: this is the main admin login for sugar, i dont know what the past employee did.

i found the problem he had set the column for is_admin to tinyint instead of varchar so i switched it to varchar and for the value i put on.

and that seemed to work.
