    Default Creating custom field

    Hi all,

I am trying to implement a software license tracking system. I was wondering if there is a simple way that i can add a custom field to a contact (or something similar, maybe a plugin), so that i can add a list of serial keys assigned contact. It would be nice for a user to be able to add a product, from a drop down (looking up a table of product names would do) or similar and then enter the serial key supplied to that contact.

For instance, it would be nice to see on the contact page for joe bloggs that he has two copies of product x and has two serial keys and lists them. It seems fairly simple, but i cant find a way to do it.

I would do this by creating a module SerialNumbers and setting up a relation to Contacts.
How to create a new module you can find in WIKI or the book.

Or.... if you want to do it in a very simple way, use Notes and write the licence keys to the subject fields of such notes.
If you have own licence files you can attach them to a note. In the contact Detail View you can see all notes and so all licences. This should be enough, or not?
