Creating Custom Lead Field for EMail

Can someone help me with linking a newly created custom email field so it uses the sugar email program just like the default email1 and email2 links? The new custom email field i created in studio uses the mailto: feature and opens up my outlook. Which php file do i need to modify and what do i need to include? I am using CE 4.5.1h. Thanks.

Hello,

Take a look in include/SugarEmailAddress/* there are the files that you need.

In function getEmailAddressWidgetEditView() for example you can see how Sugar build the field to EditView, and the templates is in the templates folder.

Thanks for the reply. There is no such email directory or email file within the include folder that you referenced.

Also, would anyone happen to know how I can add as a default value to the email2 field so it automatically includes @somethinghere.com? I tried adding this as a default in the database for leads, contacts, accounts, and etc... database fields but nothing appears. Is there a php file that needs to have this added to? Thanks.

You can use MultiPhoneField and add any attributes for fields module for this task
