creating an email template using html

I have been trying for some time to utilize the campaigns module. I create an html newsletter template using notepad++ and then open a new email template window and copy the html into the html source code popup window. When I press update on the popup window the style sheet and most of the other css gets lunched, disappears. If I paste the code in after putting in a few carriage returns, it (sometimes) shows up correctly. I can preview the template and it looks fine, but when I save it it deletes all of the css.

It sounds as though maybe you are trying to use more than just the "standard" HTML tags that Sugar allows inside it.
Have you tried creating your template using the onscreen WYSIWYG editor within Sugar?
We have found in the past that if you have non-standard code elements within your markup (especially PHP and CSS) and try to insert it into an "HTML" field within Sugar, that it does all sorts of strange things (can lock out an HTML box so you can never re-edit it etc.) resulting in lots of garbage being stored in the database.

It is far simpler (and 100% foolproof) to use the editor within the Create Email Template, than to try to edit outside and pull it into Sugar.

Thanks for the tip Spaceman. I will try to use the wysiwyg editor and add the style stuff inline. Have you tried utilizing the editor and then adding an external style sheet?
