Creating a Lead withouth a contact name. e.g www.website.com

Our business deals in internet marketing.

I wish to be able to add a list of websites as leads.

Our marketers could then work their way through this website list and add in contact info if they can find it (e.g. email address, contact name, phone number, etc), before converting them to opportunities.

Sometimes though, the only information we have about the lead is the website name.

Is it possible to either
a) Use the existing system to create leads as website names
or
b) Modify the system to do allow this?

If I remember correctly, the only required field is Last Name. So, just go ahead and use the last_name field for the domain. It's not a big deal as your marketing/sales folks will revise the information before it's converted to an Account,Contact and/or Opportunity. You could also just place "Unknown" in as the first_name and last_name fields. Duplicate checking wouldn't be as useful, but it would work. Jeff

Thanks for this. Do you know if there is a way we can change it to add a field for website name and make one of either this or the Last name compulsory instead?
