Creating sub-accounts that don't show under Accounts tab

Hi, I'm new to Sugar and was wondering if anyone has an answer to the following:

We work with a lot of school districts in different states and would like to keep the Dashlets as clean as possible. I would like to create an account of say, Florida, that would show up under the Accounts tab. Below the Florida account I would like to have accounts for each county within Florida but not have those "county accounts" (sub-accounts?) show up under the Account tab. The "county accounts" would only show when a user clicks on the Florida account. Is there a way to do this or will all of the counties show up under the Account tab? If so it seems the information under the Account tab could grow to look unmanageable very quickly.

I've searched the forums for an answer but have not yet been able to find a solution to this challenge.

We are currently using Sugar Open Source version 4.5.1 (Build 1197)

You won't be able to accomplish what you're asking for if you treat your "sub-accounts" as accounts. One option is to repurpose a related module (say Contacts, if you're not using the Contacts module; or the Opportunities module and just rename the tab and redo the layout) to house your "sub-accounts". So, when you view a particular account record, you'll see the related contact records in the sub-panel.

Another option would be to build a custom module (Sub-Accounts) that has a relationship to the Sugar Accounts module, where you could create/view sub-account records that would not show up under the Accounts List View.
