    Default Creating a target list by state/group instead of one-by-one :)

    Hello!

    I will appreciate all your advices. I am creating a target list for a campaign from thousands of contactas. I am looking to find a better way to select by State or else instead of selecting one-by-one (700 total) from the total contact list. This is taking so much time . (I also have the target list on excel) Is there a way I can import this excel list into a campaign's target list without duplicating the contacts?

    Thank you so much any advice would be great!

    Hi Adriana -- Okay, this is still a bit convoluted, but here is how I have handled this situation. In this example, we'll add targets from a certain state to a target list:
    1) Search the main Targets list for all Targets from the desired state;
    2) Select the resultant Targets and export them to a CSV file;
    3) Select the list of resultant Targets again (if it isn't already selected), and use Mass Update to delete them;;
    4) Import the CSV file created above, selecting to add the imported records to the desired Target List at the end of the import process.

    This "re-enters" all the Targets from the diesired state back into the general pool of Targets and adds them to the desired "State Target List." Hope that helps some.

    I wanted to add records of status=new and lead source=advertising to a campain. What I found was the easiest was to create a new status in the dropdown called "Send Campain". From there I used an advanced search to find records based on the above criteria and mass update them all to status="Send Campain". Then I could easily add them to a target list as they were the only records with that status. Then I was able to reverse the status change back to new and send out my campain.

    It would all depend on what you were looking for, as this was for 2 criteria search where the status was all the same to begin with.

    Good Luck!

    Dear Mme;

    By upgrading to Sugar Pro/Enterprise you can work around this problem using the reporting feature.
