Creating target lists in CE 5.0a - difficult or what?

Hi all

I'm trying to create a simple target list:

Campaigns:
Create Target List
Click 'Contacts' - get Contact Search screen.


Question 1 .. Why can't I simply select a 'Saved Search' I've previously defined? Seems daft to have to make a whole new selection just for this one task.

Question 2 - Assuming I can't use a saved search, and none of my custom fields are visible to make a selection, how do I customize this screen in Studio so that I can include my custom fields?.

Question 3. The 'Select' check-box seems unbelievably primitive on this screen. Elsewhere, you seem to have options for Select This Page, Select All Records etc. So - even if I COULD get my selected Contacts to display there would be no way of selecting them all. (Over 2000 of them)

So - any help would be great please! Loads of people must be using mass mailing, so I can't believe I'm the only one who wants to send an email to a subset of my Contacts.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same problem and I too find it very 'daft'. The only thing I can think of is to edit the underlying php file.

By the way, you can select an entire list by ticking the very top box (on the header).

I am also looking for a way to create a target list based on search results - whether it is via a saved search or by making more fields available in the search menu of the targets module......

Is there any update on this query as we are experiencing the same issue and frustration?
Seems a very basic requirement to be able to search and select from criteria already existing to create target lists for campaigns but just doesn't seem to be an option.

make that 5.1.b as well. also you can't select an entire list with the check box at the top - just the page...and if you try to go to the next page to select more entries, the pop up search loses your original search criteria meaning you can never select more than one page of filtered entries - more than useless!!!!!

I suggest installing the Power Prospecting module from SugarForge. This will help you build your target lists.

We will be adding this functionality into the core product in a future release.

I have just made the same post and seen this thread. Its a real shame that Sugar is so weak here,especially as all the other functions are so much better than SalesForce.com.

All we need is Studio to give us customer fields to select. If you set the default list to be 1000 you can then get 1000 records at a time.

Surely someone can do this
