I'm a laymen, I have searched and read the various topics containing bits and bobs of information on this subject but I can't make heads nor tails of them.
Basically what I am asking is for someone to hold my hand, whisper in my ear *you can do it, believe in yourself* and run me through the various options.
I am currently using/trying out the SugarCRM community version which I have installed myself - there is an appinstaller within plesk that can install Sugar but decided not to use their automated system.
Basically as I wanted to know what was needed to get it to work and where things can/could go wrong.
This provider uses plesk as their admintool but in all honesty I am looking for something independent from any admintool or lack thereof.
How should one go about with this if you can't get cron root access from your host, is this even possible?
plesk itself has a crontab button but I have not used it yet as I have no clue where to start.
Things the backup must do;
1 Backup the db in a (preferably zipped) .sql file and have that mailed to me (or put on external ftp server).
2 Make a mirror copy of the html/php using an ftp account to an external server.
These jobs need to run every 24hr at night.
Anyone have any idea how to go about this? Not wanting to do all this manually for the coming years if you understand what I mean
