Hi,
I am struggling with email templates. I am trying to add fields that are not from either accounts or contacts to an email template but the never get filled when the email is generated.
I have created a custom module which contains my products and their price. I have related this to contacts which is by proxy my list of customers. I need to be able to send emails to customers by either a campaign or standard email which would contain the name of the product they have purchased and the associated price.
I was originally using 4.5 then 5.0 and now 5.0b and I always have the same issue. How can I tell for certain that my variable $xxx_product_name is correct? Mostly what I have is based on assumption from the naming strategy of accounts and contacts. I have trawled through the forums for days now and I find lots of people asking the same question or related questions whether it be for the bugs, projects, cases modules but no actual answers has to how I can determine what the variable names would be. Sugar 5.0 is remarkably powerful and customisable and it is a great advancement over 4.5. I particularly like the custom modules functionality but I feel integrating non contact/account modules into email templates to be still deficient.
Any help of advice would be greatly appreciated. My system details are below
Sugar Version (5.0b)
Sugar Edition (Sugar Community Edition)
Category (Custom Modules and Email Templates)
Operating System (Linux 2.6.18-5-686)
PHP Version (5.2.0-8+etch7)
Database (MySQL 5)
Web Server (Apache 2)
Email through gmail.
Thanks
Eamonn...
