Currency change crashes browser on Opportunity!

I have a custom currency set up on my Sugar OS 5.1
Whenever I edit or create an opportunity I have the following problem:
Whenever the amount is larger than about 100 and I switch the currency, the browser crashes (CPU load goes to 100 and the browser does not respond). I tried on IE, Firefox and Chrome.

I have another Sugar installation on the same server, and that works fine regardless of the amount.
Is there a setting somewhere that controls the currency that I can take a look at? It look like the browser crashes when it is trying to recalculate the amounts on the fly.

I have tried deleting the currencies (from Sugar and from DB) and recreating them, but am still facing the same problems.

It seems that the problem happens whenever the converted amount is >= 1000. So If I put in 1000 (with USD) as the currency, and then change it to EUR everything is fine and I get a result of 700 EUR, but if I then try to change it back to USD, the browser hangs with the processor going to 100%.

If anyone has any idea of where to start looking, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi,

Have you managed to sort this out? I am having a similar problem only difference is that I get a IE message asking if I want to abort the script as it is taking too long to run and after clicking 'yes'the amount has changed. I am using version 5.0g.

When I added the field I added it to the usual places and just declared it as Currency in the vardefs file. Does anyone know if there is anywhere else where it needs adding? Also did you create two fields like there is for the amount field?
