Exclamation Currency convertion rate is driving us NUTS! (And the dashboard)

We are absolutly getting totally nuts over the currency convertion rate - According to http://valutakurser.dk (exchange rate) the current USD convertion rate towards the danish kroner is as follows:

    Amerika USD 547,7200 -0,23 down

Now - it seems that it does'nt matter what you do, in which format you enter - we can't get it right.

How can we make this to be correct, if you take for example the danish kroner rate above?

If we enter for example a sale for 996 kroner it shows up in the dashboard as:

Total amount of all opportunities is ,-1,00K -

1 kroner? huh - say what?

This is very wrong, since it should be 996K.

Is this a bug in the system or what and is there a way to correct this?

We would be very pleased for some help with this.

We are using the MS SQL version (Version 4.5.1b (Build 1246)

    Hi,

Just checked it on my system - absolutely correct. The dashboard shows the home currency, the opportunity the chosen one. Or do I misunderstand you? See attached prints (conversion rate: 1 EUR = 250 HUF)

Hi, and thanks for your reply

Well look at the attached pdf file and you will see...

Actually it doesn't matter what we write in the conversion rate table - it's still a big 1K ...

So if we change the rate to a higher figure you will eventually get the dashboard to show 996,00 danish kroners, but then the opportunity shows that the price for the product sold is something like 99.6000,00 danish kroner or more...

    So something must be wrong..

    Found the Problem.

Dashboard graphs always show 1000s what means that 996 Crowns will round up to 1K aka 1 kilo (=1.000). This is standard for reports e.g. balance sheets, 10K forms or such.

The weird sign in front of the number comes because you entered the currency symbol as ",-". Better would be to use DKK as well and then it is shown correctly.

Hope that saves you from going mad.

    Hi roblaus!

Thank you a lot for explaining this for us, this absolutely calms us down!

As you already probably have figured out, we assumed that the dashboard showed full figures..

Maybe this should be updated in the manual since there is not really much explanations/information on the currency conversion rate/dashboard in the manual for 4.5.1b?

Anyway - thanks again for explaining this.
