    Cool Custom Email Folders Possible?

    Hello,

Has anyone had an experience creating custom email folders to move selected emails to? I was just wondering if there was a module out there that does this. I tried looking through the forum for some related post but didn’t see anything on the subject.

Also, is it possible, when you click the "Compose New Email" button that the next window opens in a popup? My client (for some crazy reason) would like to have this feature. Its funny but it seems most of my clients care more about the cosmetics of the program rather than the functionality.

    Kind Regards,

    Ed

No, this is not possible, but sit tight as the 5.0 release is supposed to have a new e-mail client which includes folders and a number of other goodies.

This is the inherit issue with web apps and it is not uncommon for users to focus on this. When I train users on Sugar, especially those coming from desktop apps (especially GoldMine), I like to point out these subtle differences. It is one of those experiences that people tend not to notice, until it is gone (of course).

It would be nice if it popped up, but then that brings up the problem of popups and popup blockers, etc.

My preference would be to have pseudo MDI windows within Sugar. I saw a great example not long ago of a web office app that did that really well. I'll have to dig around my bookmarks to find it. I think that the first web based CRM app that could incorporate such an interface would leapfrog all others in the usability and productivity area. I add productivity to my comment because that is the main reason why people want that functionality. They want to be able to see multiple bits of data side by side without having to constantly open or redraw pages.

Have any of you ever been to an investment bank? Check out how many monitors each person has on their desk. It is crazy, but same idea!

I don't know of a way of setting a default font through Sugar, but you might be able to do it via the FCKEditor settings, however, that is likely to apply the same setting to all users.
