Custom employee fields not saving

I added a couple of custom employee fields to my detail view and edit view pages. The fields display properly, but for some reasone the cusotm field data isn't saved when I update the employee record even though the rest of the records are saved. I was able to add fields to the Contacts pages with no problems.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm running Sugae version 4.2.

I have the same problem with custom fields in accounts module. Sugar OS 4.0.1f

Data Imports succesfully and returns in GUI as expected, but none of the fields update or "save" from EditView.html.
I should clarify that my custom fields have been coded into the module vardefs et al, NOT added as custom via custom field wizzard. What files have we not updated to facilitate saving/updating these fields via EditView?

Never Mind... a total of 8 fields, 4 of whch would not save - thought it was none. Resoved variety of errors/omissions ranging from data type or length in vardefs/fields to input name and or ommited character in EditView.html and one ommited assign/request in EditView.php. MY BAD!!!

1. Will you please tell me guys how can I add custom fields under Employee module.

2. Is there a limitation for the maximum numnber of custom fields I can create under the Employee module as well as the other modules for example?
