    Default Custom Field Problem (bug?)

    I'm using SugarCRM Open Source Version 4.5.1e (Build 1049)

    I'm having a problem with custom field function. It used to be working perfectly fine. Now, I try creating a new custom field for Lead module (In the Admin > Studio). It didn't show up when I go to "Edit Layout". Normally when I create a new custom field, it should appear on the right hand side so that I can drag and drop it on the layout. Then I tried creating the new custom fields so many times. It still does not show up. It seems that I can not create a new custom field any more even though all custom fields I just created are in the "View Custom Field" Page and "Label" Page.


    Can anyone help me with this problem.

    Have you upgraded Sugar since the last time that Studio worked correctly?

    Try running the "Repair Studio" option under Admin >> Repair.

    Thank you for your suggestion, Angel.

    I have not upgraded Sugar since I installed it. I tried Admin-->Repair but I found only "upgrade studio" instead of "repair studio". I tried the "upgrade studio" but nothing happens.

    I also tried the "repair custom fields" in Admin-->Studio-->Edit a Module-->Leads-->Edit Custom Fields-->Repair Custom fields but nothing really happened.

    I'm really frustrated now because I really need to add more custom fields in order to import more leads to the system.


    Any more idea?

    Apologies, I meant the "Upgrade Studio" option. You clicked the option I was thinking of.

    Is the problem specific to one module or is it system wide?

    What happens if you drag one of your other custom fields to the "Delete" section on the EditView layout page? Does that field appear on the listing?

    I hab similar problems when using studio in IE6, switching to firefox solved all my problems.

    Dear Angel,

    Thank you so much for your kindness so far. I'm Noppann and I am fixing the problem on behave of zmao.

    It seems that we've got a problem with the permission here. When I tried upgrading the software version it showed me that these files have bad permission settings:

    /var/www/html/sugar/cache/dynamic_fields/modules.php 0644 root root
    /var/www/html/sugar/cache/dynamic_fields/Leads/fields.php 0644 root root
    /var/www/html/sugar/cache/dynamic_fields/Leads 0755 root root
    /var/www/html/sugar/cache/dynamic_fields 0755 root root

    Now, I forward this problem to my administrator and hope that it will help.
