Custom field value in two modules

HI,
Using Sugar community 5.0.0f and having a minor problem...

In Accounts we have a custom field called "agent /partner" - this field tells us which agent (account) is responsible for this actual acoount.

When a opportunity is created on a account I would like to have a filed in the opportunity view which have the same value as the "agent/partner" view in accounts.

Can this be done? How? I would prefer to have an upgrade safe solution.
Can the "agent/partner" in opportunities be used in serach and also be sorted on?

The only way to do this is with a logic_hook. You would write a before_save logic_hook that would copy the info needed from the associated account to the opportunity. Logic_hooks are detailed in the developers manual at http://developers.sugarcrm.com

OK - thanks for the help. I think it will be to advanced for us...
Will try another custom field in opportunity module.
