    Hi Bonneadmin,

Yes, it is possible. How did you try create a custom field ? By Studio ?
Are you using a cleaning version of Sugar ?

There may be a bug here ... I've got the same problem in Studio in version 5.1.0b ... Trying to add custom fields is simply ignored. I go through the process of creating a new field and then when I save it, the new field is not displayed in the list.

I'm going to install 5.1a to see if it's just been introduced.

There are quite a few threads here describing exactly the same behaviour. No apparent reason (all permissions set correctly). There were some similar issues with an upgraded version that somebody on the German forum could solve but unfortunately this doesn't seem to apply to new installs.

Last resort: Not only check the permissions but also the owner of the Sugar files / directory. It seems ridiculous if everything is set to 777 but hey - we're talking software here, not coffee maker...
