Default Custom fields in Alert Template Condition?

    Using Sugar Pro 4.5.0h

Having defined a custom field for the Contacts module using the Studio (in my case dnld_trial, a date field), can this be used as a trigger Condition in an alert template? I dont see the custom field displayed as a drop down option in the pop-up even though it is visible as a custom field in the Studio for the Contacts module.

I am trying to do is create a Workflow with the Contacts module, where if this custom field is set to today's date, then send out an alert e-mail to the contact using a template.

    Thanks in advance.

Is the custom field a date field? if so you will need to make sure the workflow object is a time-based workflow.

That was the mistake. I converted the flow to "time elapsed" and I see the drop down.

    Thanks muchly.
