Custom Fields do not fill when create Contact related to Account

I have 3 custom fields with identical names in Contacts and Accounts. If I first create an Account, then create a Contact that is linked to that Account, the address, phone, etc. fields fill properly but not the data in the custom fields. Is there a setting I've missed somewhere?

SugarCRM doesn´t automatically copy values from Accounts custom fields into respectives Contacts custom fields.
You need to create a logic_hook before_save to accomplish such logic.
If you would like to copy Accounts fields into Contacts fields through both account popup and auto complete, then you can create a displayParams just like I described here.
