Custom fields do not update (v4.0.1c)

Hi,
I have been using sugar 4.0.1c for several years now and all has been well. In Accounts I have a few custom fields, dates (DATE), and mileage (VARCHAR) for example.

These custom fields work fine on one LAMP installation but i have copied the whole system to a Win2008 server - imported the MYSQL(v5) updated the sugar config etc. and the new installation works fine - except the custom fields do not update when edited.

I can edit the database directly and the data for these fields changes but not from within sugar.

I have done all the usual 'repair custom fields' etc and also even if i create a new custom field it only shows the default data and will not update.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated :-)

I'll be brutally honest...you'll not get a reply for this unless you upgrade to a more recent version of Sugar.
Its that quite probaly noone remembers or even has this version installed.

Fair comment - I have not upgraded simply as everything worked, and "If it 'aint broke etc etc" - but maybe it is time!!
