sugar 4.0.0

I created several custom fields in the Account tab and set the data type to checkbox.

I now need to change them to text (as opposed to re creating the custom list of fields all over again)

Edit custom fields will not allow you to change data type.

Can I change this in MySql itself with no negative effect to the vardefs in sugar ?
