    Default Custom Fields & Modules

Ok I've just installed Sugar 4.5 and having a few problems with customising some of the modules. I have been asked to edit the LEADS page in the Prospects module and change the layout slightly. I've created the custom fields and then added them to the page layout. I then saved the page but I'm finding the fields I have made don't work, I also tried publishing it too. If you open the lead up and try to edit the fields by adding data into them none of the information saves.

My question is after I set my custom fields up do I need to link them into a database for them to work?

Also when I'm in the edit Layout section a few of my custom fields have a leading backward slash on the field name. What is the backward slash for and why on 2 of my fields do I have 2 leading backward slashes?

    Can anyone help me out?

    Hi Deland02,

    Check this out: http://sugarcrm.openapp.org/?p=155

    Hope this would help either.

Thanks for that but that’s exactly what I did and they don't work.

Could you provide a screenshot of the error page. Would help more to track up the error.

Field names when editing the layout with custom fields added - As you can see with the one I have circled there are extra backslashes in the front of the custom field name.

Field names when viewing a LEAD - As you can see the "\Fame DSO" field displays with an unwanted \ in the front of the custom field name.

    Attachment Surgar03.jpg
Field names when editing a LEAD - As you can see the "\Actual DSO" & "\Live Accounts" field displays with an unwanted \ in the front of the custom field name. Also the "\Fame DSO" field is now no longer displayed. The last thing is when ever you enter any data into the fields and hit the save button at the top nothing saves in any of the custom fields. It will only save in the standard fields.

Did you try to double-click the field (in Studio) and remove the extra backslash? Worked in my case...

    Hi

Is seems that this bug has been fixed with the 4.5.0g patch.
