Custom fields in Opportunities section of convert lead form

Hi all,

I apologize if there's already a thread out there that answers this. I've looked for a while to find an answer and seem to find a number of things, many of which contradict each other or are related to an older version of Sugar.

We are using the CE version and recently upgraded from 6.1.X to 6.3.1. We had added a number of custom fields to the Opportunities module and had them showing up on the Convert Lead form in the opportunities section. I thought all I did was update the QuickCreate layout for the Opportunities.

In the new version, the custom layout for QuickCreate is still saved, but it no longer shows on the convert lead form.

I've seen different indicators on the site, such as Convert Lead customization is only handled through the Studio, and CE does not support the Convert Lead page, I've also seen documentation that indicates where to look for the Convert lead form but cannot find it.

Ultimately, I would like to display the custom fields from the Opportunities module on the convert lead form. Is this possible in 6.3 and how do I do it if it is?

I haven't done it myself in a very long time but I think the way to get fields to show up in the convert lead screen may have changed in 6.3 and now you need to edit the modules/Leads/metadata/convertdefs.php (you can move it to custom/modules/Leads/metadata/convertdefs.php to make it upgrade safe) to add fields to the different module panels.
