    Exclamation Custom Fields Problem

    Please Help!
I have been having no luck getting any of the custom fields that I have created in the Accounts section to accept data. The fields show up but after I put info into the fields and then hit the save button the data magically disappears. I have been looking at many threads about this issue and have come to this point. I was able to create a sugarlog file and find that I had 1 mySQL error due to a duplicate field. The field is called id_c and it is in both the Contacts module and the Accounts module. It populates just fine in the contacts module but if I try to do anything in Accounts I get nothing. So I tried deleting the uneeded id_c field out of the accounts area that was a bad idea. It seems as though the record lookup is tied to this field and with out it I loose access to all of the account data and there by any of the case files that have been created. I had backed up the database so I was able to restore things to their previous state without issue.
I am very much stuck at this point. I don't know if I should (and if there is a way to) delete out the one id_c field and tell sugar to look up the contacts by a different field. Or if there is something else wrong that is an easier fix than this that doesn't make me loose a bunch of data/ work. I have also tried repairing the custom fields and that does nothing.

    HELP HELP HELP!!

Here is the ERROR message from the log file:
[32562] ERROR SugarCRM - MySQL error 1110: Column 'id_c' specified twice

I am running Sugar 4.5.1g on linux
    apache version 1.3.37 (Unix)
    MySQL version 5.0.27-standard-log
    PHP version 5.0.5

    OK- just an update.
I backed up all my data and tried to see what would happen if I deleted the id_c field from the accounts module and then just re added all the accounts info. So I did the delete and then attempted to create a test account. It did not work. The page went blank and it gave me an error messate. It seems as though even though I have not used this field at all in Accounts that this field is used to look up the records. Even more weird is that if you look at the web address field at the top of the browser you will see it referencing the ID# of that account/ contact. Like I said, I have not used this field in accounts but I have used it in contacts. This must be a bug of some kind because this field seems to be linked to everything.
There must be some other way to get it so that there is no mysql error because of that duplicate field and/or something that will make it so that the custom fields will start working in the accounts module.

    I am soooo stuck here
