Please Help!
I have been having no luck getting any of the custom fields that I have created in the Accounts section to accept data. The fields show up but after I put info into the fields and then hit the save button the data magically disappears. I have been looking at many threads about this issue and have come to this point. I was able to create a sugarlog file and find that I had 1 mySQL error due to a duplicate field. The field is called id_c and it is in both the Contacts module and the Accounts module. It populates just fine in the contacts module but if I try to do anything in Accounts I get nothing. So I tried deleting the uneeded id_c field out of the accounts area that was a bad idea. It seems as though the record lookup is tied to this field and with out it I loose access to all of the account data and there by any of the case files that have been created. I had backed up the database so I was able to restore things to their previous state without issue.
I am very much stuck at this point. I don't know if I should (and if there is a way to) delete out the one id_c field and tell sugar to look up the contacts by a different field. Or if there is something else wrong that is an easier fix than this that doesn't make me loose a bunch of data/ work. I have also tried repairing the custom fields and that does nothing.
