    Default Custom Module Permissions Trouble

I recently attempted to create a custom module called "Publications" by copying the "Notes" module and making a ton of changes. When I attempt to access this module I get the following error: "You do not have access to this area. Contact your site administrator to obtain access."

    I have tried to:
    1. Repair Roles - My module name doesn't appear
    2. Quick Repair - The module appears, but nothing changes.
    3. Add permissions directly to the database. - This had no effect.

After directly modifying the 'modules.php' file I was able to get my module to at least appear in the navigation, and the 'roles' pages, but I still cannot access it no matter what I try to do.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

By adding the permissions directly into database, did you mean you entered data into acl_actions table?

Yes, that is exactly what I did. All the required records as well (I believe there were eight in total).

I did figure out my trouble though. In modules.php I failed to pluralize the name of my module where I added it to the "beanlist" variable. Once I made this change my module popped up normally. I feel a bit foolish for making such a rudimentary mistake.
