Exclamation Custom module subpanel counts 2 records for each record...

Whenever I create a new record via the subpanel of a custom module, the sub panel counts 2 records. it doesn't create two records, it just counts two for each.

This causes some display problem for my users because they often think that their record has disappeared. (Whenever they have more than 5, the subpanel thinks there are more than 10 so it puts it in another page.

If I create via the list view page, then the subpanel counts the right amount of records.

I was thinking of two possible solutions

    • Fix the count function...
    • Increase the quantity of displayed records in the subpanel...

But I don't know how to do both these things. Can anyone help?

    System info:
    System: Windows XP - XAMPP
    Sugar Version: 5.1RC
    PHP Version 5.2.5
    MySQL: 5.0.51a

It is possible that the relationship definition is wrong and is returning the incorrect count to Sugar when attempting to display the sub-panel. Are you able to provide any details on the custom module and sub-panel relationship.

Sure! The modules are all in a one-to-many relationship.

Two of my modules are in a one -to-many relationship with the Opportunities Module, one module for deliveries, and one for price quotes for the opportunity.

All the other modules are in a one-to-many relationship with the Price quote module, to define the many items in the quote.

All my custom modules are facing the same problem.

Thumbs up Re: Custom module subpanel counts 2 records for each record...

I just found out that it's only when you edit, using the small Edit button on the right of subpanels that the relationship duplicates. When you create in the subpanel, it doesn't duplicate the relationship.

Also: if you go through Detail view and then click Edit, then the relationship is not duplicated. So that can be a temporary quick fix for those facing this problem.

Yes, I've just experienced this as well. I've got a support case open. I'm sending my custom module.

What patch level are you at?

I'm running 5.1RC. I went too fast with this. I learned that you shouldn't have a release candidate as a production system. Hahaha. You gotta learn someway I guess.

Do you have a link to that Case you mention?

    Here is my config:

    Sugar 5.1RC Open Source
    XAMPP on Windows XP
    PHP 5.2.5
    MySQL 5.0.51a
    Apache 2.0.

    HI Bill,

Did you manage to get a resolution from Sugar on this? As we are experiencing the same problem.

    Thanks,

I'm not in a position to check this out fully in terms of a resolution but the problem was people editing the record using the Edit link to the right on the record line. If they clicked on the record link itself to edit it then all was fine. This wasn't a big problem for us since our process involves searching for a group of custom records, opening the first record and then editing them all at once.

When I get back to the office I'll check to see if this was filed as a bug.
