Custom Reports and/or Charts in Community Edition

Forgive the newbie-ish question. From the looks of it, Community edition doesn't have a built in module for doing reports or charts. Does that mean that its not possible to do custom reports or charts in CE? Or does it just mean that there is no nice GUI driven frontend for custom reports and charts?

I am comfortable with writing / modifying some PHP so if that's the only ways, I'm game. I just want to know if 1) its possible and 2) (given that it is possible) where I might be able to find some documentation for writing custom reports and charts.

I've been able to find stuff like this: http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32695. Is that all there is as far as documentation goes?

I've heard great things about ZuckerReports for CE. That may help save you some time.

I've seen Zucker Reports as well and it looks appetizing. Before I get into that though, I want to know what is involved (or if its even possible for that matter) in writing custom reports and / or custom charts in community edition. Is it possible? If so, is it documented anywhere?

Even I am using Version 4.5.1 (Build 1197) and l looking for custom reporting tools. I got ZuckerReports installed but could not figure out how to configure the reports. Is anyone having any documentation or guide to help in this.
