    Question New User Help

I have just installed SugarCRM 5 b on Windows Server 2003 (New User)

All is up and running however I have two issues:

    1. I cannot remove items from Dropdowns to customise them. Does anybody know if there is a bug or can I modify one of the SQL Server Database tables to do this.
/*Have managed to find where the dropdowns are stored*/

    2. I am trying to install an additional module (Zucker Reporting). When I browse to the ZIP file and upload the page times out and gives me a Browser Page Display Error.

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi, equisoft
The dropdown options are stored into language files, not into database.
You can modify its contents through Studio.

The time out probably is because the incompatibility between the php variable upload_max_size and the file size of the Zucker Report package.
Increase the upload_max_size to around 20MB and restart your web server.

    Hi andopes,

It doesn't match what I see in my sugar installation.
I don't see any option in studio to modify dropdown options.
I am also trying to customize somo from the dropdown editor, and not really successfully at the moment.
Some function work in firefox but not in IE, and some other work in IE but not in firefox.
At the moment all I have manages is to loose the spanish translation for a dropdown in account module

I had a similar issue. It seemd like it was more of a browser issue. If you click on the edit button of the dropdown entry you want to edit, hold the mouse button in untill the entire field highlights. Then you can edit. I also had to save after each modification to make them stick. Also if you hide folder list on the left and pull the edit area more to the right you can see all the controls.

    Hi, guys.

The current SugarCRM version (5.0.0b) has several bugs into Studio and ModuleBuilder which make difficult perform some customizations.

The SugarCRM Development Team will release the version 5.0.0c with all these bugs fixed.
So you can find some trouble editing dropdown using Studio.

Can you tell me where exactly are the language files for sugar 5.0. I am having problems with the editor so just want to edit the source data.

    Many Thanks

    Hi all,

what andopes said is true: customising sugar through studio is kinda buggy at the moment.
For those who want some hand coding, here are the dropdown lists shown in the dropdown editor: <sugar-root>\include\laguage\en_us.lang.php
Depending on which language packs you have on your sugar, you could find other xx_xx.lang.php files too.
Syntax for dropdowns and labels in general is:

    'value' => 'label';

Just modify the label, it's what is shown in the web page.

    Hi, ftmad1

    You are right!
As Jennifer Yim (jyim) has promissed, this bugs had been fixed in the last release (5.0.0c)

    Cheers.
