Dashboard $ off by 2 decimals

I am having a problem with my dashboard. On my opportunities list I show amounts as 55,000.00 7,000.00... and so on. But when I view the amount in my dashboard, all I see is "pipeline total is 377.00K". It should be 377,000K. This is for my closed won. So the value is 100%. I am sure I am doing something really stupid, but I can't see it. My currency is USD.

My sugar version is 4.5.1f the community edition. Running centos 5, apache 2.2.3. msql 5.0.22, php 5.1.6

it's correct.
notice how it's done off of thousands and not hundreds.
