    Default Dashlets display

    CE Version 5.2.0j (Build 5804) ubuntu 9.04 server mysql 5 php 5.2 Apache 2

I have posted this before on the discussions thread but I am not getting any further with it.

As a user with admin rights, I change the layout of the dashlets and whilst doing this I get messages saying the layout has been updated, dashlet removed, dashlet added, etc. So this all looks fine. However, when I log out and back in, the default layout has returned and the dashlets added have disappeared.

In addition to this my email settings also disappear during a logout/in. The actual profile is still there but I have to select it and save again.

This all points to a permission problem I think, but the tables and the php directories are all rwxrwx so I don't think it is at file system level.Ownership of the database is mysql.mysql and the php directories are www-data.root

Are there any constraints in the tables or somewhere else in the code that could cause this? What else do I need to check to find this problem?

    TIA
    Glyn

    Default Re: Dashlets display

Let me ask this in a different way - maybe it will elicit an answer.

Does the information controlling which dashlet is displayed reside in the dashboard table? If so which php file controls or writes to it?

I have looked at the table and updated the layout of the home page, and the dashboard table content field is not updated which I rather think it should be.

On the other hand, is the user_preferences table? I have a whole bunch of entries with a null catagory with dates of when I have been "playing" with this. Again which php file wrotes to this table, does anyone know?

Can anyone help me out here?

    TIA
    Glyn
