Data disappears from potentially duplicate contacts

I recently upgraded to Sugar 6.2.4.

I have a problem when I try to update a contact whose name might be similar to another contact (ie, I update Michael Smith, when a Mike Smith already exists).

Sugar gives me a warning that a duplicate contact exists, and asks me to Save or Cancel.

When I save (these are two separate people), any data from DATE fields disappears from both records.

Is this a bug? Can I disable the check for duplicate names?

I'm having the same problem. It's also affecting drop-down fields.

A very temporary solution is to edit modules/Contacts/ContactFormBase.php
and comment out the line that reads:

$duplicateContacts = $this->checkForDuplicates($prefix);

I'll file a bug report when I'm more awake and post back here if there is a response. When I work out a proper fix I'll post that here as well.
