Unhappy Data no longer retrieved in History subpanels

    Hi all,

I'm running Sugar CE 5.1 on MSSQL 2005 with PHP 5.2.1

I've reciently noticed that data is not populating in the "history subpanel" on any of my contacts, accounts or leads detail pages. I can open the form to add a new note or attachment (even pull up the full form) enter data into the form and save it. I then can check SQL directly and see that my data is being saved, yet this data is no longer appearing.

Since this is happening across all the views (contacts, accounts, leads), I'm guessing that this is an issue with a file that must be global to sugarcrm?
What file can I look at replacing to properly display the contetns from the database for the history subpanel ?

Note: only data for "create note or attachment" are not displaying in the different modules (contacts, accounts, leads). email shows up as expected for each of teh modules in the history subpanel.

    Thanks

    Resolved the issue

I ran across another post, by luck and by golly, where another person had a similar issue (only where data in Notes were not displaying in all instances of history for contacts, leads, accounts, etc).

I renamed the "Notes" folders under /modules/
and copied over a "Notes" folder from another working version of Sugar CE5.1

I also removed the "Notes" folder from custom\modules\notes

I then went into admin and performed a "quck repair and rebuild"
Then I went into studio manager and did a "save and publish" to each of the four layouts.

I then went into contacts and pulled up an existing entry. None of the notes that are in the database displayed, but new notes that I just entered do display.

Somehow (I noticed this on another working instance of Sugar CE5.1) there were two addional fields when creating a Note (a contact; which was prefilled with the curent contact and a 'relate to' field that defaulted to 'accounts' and you could choose which account, contact, etc you wanted to relate the note to.)

I checked the DB, for the instance I just fixed. Although it appears that I do not need to relate a note to an "account", the "contacts" field needed to be populated and I believe there must have been a hidden "contact_ID" fiield that was not on the notes form prior to the fix.
I modified the Notes table to assign a "Parent_type" and the "contact_id" to the other notes that I previously entered and voila, they now appear.
