I'd like to integrate various application at the db level rather than have sugarcrm own the tables and have to update via SOAP.
Is this OK or will it break SugarCRM?
Sorry if this is answered somewhere else but I couldn't find it.
Cheers

Hi Sam,
If you do this, you are bypassing some of the built-in processing that the SOAP API does trigger. For example, notifications and workflow handling are bypassed if you insert straight to the database. The bean handles all that processing for you if you use the API.
Take a look at how your users will be using the application; if notifications and workflows are being used, your best bet is to use the SOAP API.

Susie,
Thanks. But it won't upset sugarCRM caches etc? It is a greenfield site so won't be breaking any user expectations
Cheers
