Default date incorrect when importing activities

I am in the process of getting all the data from our current ACT to SugarCRM CE 5.1a.

I have a problem with the dates when importing meetings or calls. After import the start and end date are set to 1/1/1970 10:00. I even tried to create activity in Sugar then export it, then delete the activity then try to import it. The start and end date always becomes 1/1/1970 10:00.

This is a showstopper for us if we cannot import all the sales people's activities with their proper date then we cannot use SugarCRM

I Would appreciate any help please!

    This is useful:
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/wiki/index.p...ng_Date_fields

It looks like that date is imported correctly only in 'yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss' format regardless of Admin->Regional or My Account settings when importing activities (calls, meets)

That's a nightmare: the way for importing correctly I found, having this in mind, is to return to english as language, changing personnal settings format date to YYYY-MM-DD, export data with this format (YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss) and now, it works.... bufffff.....

If I had a dollar for every time this subject has come up I'd be able to afford to pay the bonus of a junior investment banker.

It's the underlying database that you need to look for the date format

Date format mismatch between user preference, and locale setting causes this problem in Sugar CE 6.1.

We were having similar problems importing Call data into Sugar CE 6.1. The solution turned out to be setting the user date format preference equal to the locale date format.

Once these two matched all date import issues with respect to date formats, bad dates, wrong dates e.g. 1970.01.01 or 1969.12.31 all went away. Also using the import feature in sugar we could now use advance options to import differing date formats with alternate delimiters e.g. "-", "." We didn't try changing the y, m, d order, but just set everything to yyyy-mm-dd hh:ss which matches the standard unix base format. Previously the advanced option had no effect on wrongly imported dates. They always turned up 1970.01.01 which in unix is "0" meaning in this case a bad import.
