Datetime bug for custom fields

Hey guys,

I think I found a bug, or I'm too stupid for sugar's datetime handling. Here are my steps to reproduce the buggy behaviour of sugar:

1. Install sugarCE v6.2.0 on a system with datetimezone for GMT+2 (e.g. European/Paris)
2. Login as admin user
3. Set user preferences to dateformat 23.12.10
4. Create a custom datetimefield for e.g. notes and add it to edit- and detailview
5. Edit a note and set date time to e.g. 28.07.2011 & Save
6. The custom field will not contain any data.
7. Edit note and set date for custom field to 05.07.2011 & save
8. Now the field will be set to 07.05.2011

Can anyone verify that bu please?

Well,

my bug was closed with resolution "invalid".

Anyone out with an idea why I got this behaviour?

This behavior is dificult to reproduce, once that when we fill a date fiield with a invalid format we got an error message instead as lose the data after saved.

The date format is particullar for each user. Are your sure your current users has the format are you testing?

Also check if it is happening for all dates fields or just for this one.

Well, I tried to reproduce this in productive system. I wasn't able to. In test system I am.

I'm still wondering, because the test system is a 1:1 clone of the productive system. But I think I will have to reclone the system for testing, something must have went wrong.

So this error is atm solved for me, thanks.
