so upgrade failed (several times).

  • I use Sugar 6.2.3 on linux,
  • SERVEURS WEB: Apache
  • VERSION DE PHP: 5.2.17:
  • › Extensions et fonctions supportées
  • › Affichage du phpinfo()
  • VERSION DE PERL: 5.010000
  • VERSION DE MYSQL: Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.84, for pc-linux-gnu (i686) using readline 5.1


This what I did and what happened :
1. Clicked on the "Upgrade Wizard" link in the Administration: Home screen.
2. Clicked on "Browse..." button, selected the SugarCE-Upgrade-6.2.x-to-6.3.0.zip file as the file to upload.
3. Clicked on the "Upload" button.
4. Clik next untill installation process.
5. Received this error : "Erreur de base de données. Veuillez consulter le fichier sugarcrm.log pour plus de détails." (Database error. please see sugarcrm.log for more details)
6. This is the last 2 lines of the log (nothing else except several occurences of the same line concerning timezone):

Thu Dec 8 13:55:53 2011 [14219][-none-][FATAL] Configuration variable date.timezone is not set, guessed timezone Europe/Berlin. Please set date.timezone="Europe/Berlin" in php.ini!
Thu Dec 8 13:56:36 2011 [14219][1][FATAL] Query Failed: SELECT id FROM upgrade_history ORDER BY date_entered desc: MySQL error 2006: MySQL server has gone away
