    Default dbase import

    Greetings,

I am literally just downloaded sugarcrm and i was looking around and i like what i see. But my biggest issue is that we currently are running goldmine 6.7 which runs on dbase. Is there some way that i could import all of our CRM data into sugarcrm or would we have to lose all of our data?

thank you very much for your time.

You'll need to massage you GM data a bit before you can import it. Unlike the GM world, there aren't many tools available for the task.

You could look at something like SnapLogic, but I don't immediately recall if it can handle dBase files. Other options would be to export the data to ASCII/CSV and use the exported files in combination with the built-in import capabilities of Sugar, but that will only get you limited results.

A final alternative would be to hire someone to do the conversion for you. A number of folks like myself and others in this forum, as well as Sugar Professional Services have experience doing that type of work.

    Hello,

the import of your data from Goldmine into SugarCRM can definitely be done. It depends what kind of data you stored in Goldmine and what kind of data you want to bring over into Sugar. If you had any custom fields in Goldmine (or fields that exist in Goldmine but not in Sugar) then these would need to be created in Sugar first and then imported in.

We have a lot of experience with data import from various sources into Sugar, so would be more than happy to discuss this in more detail if you are interested. If so, please contact Ray Stoeckicht at rays@intelestream.net or 888-435-2221.

    Good luck!
