Default value in field not working

Hello

I have an isuue when I edit a drop down field and change the default value to a new value the change will not take effect once I click save and deploy. The old default value will still show up even though I go back to edit the field and the new value is in the default value field.
If I create a brand new drop down field and set the default value it will work.

I have rebooted the server Sugar is installed on and tried a quick repair and rebuild. I am using Sugar Professional Version 6.1.1 (Build 5512)
