    Default Developer Appreciation Week

    Hi Everyone,

I would like to suggest that we institute a "Developer Appreciation Week" to recognize and reward the people who give so much of their time and energy to the Sugar Forums. These are the people who bring you the great modules in the Downloads area, and who answer your many questions in the Help area. Many of them obviously contribute a LOT of time, energy and talent to the Sugar OS community. I think we ought to do something to recognize and reward them from time to time.

My personal favorite is Ken Brill (kbrill). Ken is a moderator in the Help Forum, and you will always see his helpful comments in many of the other various threads. He is developing and contributing to several modules, is one of the rated developers in SugarForge, is always one of the most prolific posters every month and generally one of the most active participants in the Forums. Despite the impression you might get from the number of posts he submits, Ken is not a SugarCRM employee.

Regardless who your favorite is, I suggest you send your favorite developer a donation. You can often find an email contact in the person's profile. And if you have their email address, it is easy to send whatever amount you see fit by PayPal. No matter how much the amount is, you can show that you appreciate their talent, helpfulness and expertice.

I contributed. How about you? Let's let them know we appreciate them.

    Best,
    Rick

PS: Please DON'T even think of sending me a contribution. I am not a developer, and am absolutely a net recipient of help in these forums. R

I am going to bump this thread again as a specific result of all the great work that Ken Brill has been doing. He has recently made several of the most popular add-on open source modules UPGRADE SAFE. That is a HUGE contribution to all of us OS users, as it means we don't have to struggle with module compatibility every time there is an upgrade to Sugar.

Also, Ken has recently released a new TeamsOS module. This is a tremendously important and valuable module, IMHO.

So, I am once again going to send a donation to Ken. And I suggest you all do the same. I don't know if he has an online payment transfer account (like Paypal), but you can contact him through email. Ken's contact info is also on his web site, HERE.

At the very least, I hope some of you will reply to this thread and let Ken know how much you appreciate his work.

    [Cheers]

Thumbs up Re: Developer Appreciation Week

Didn't come to the forum quite often than before, but KBill's work and activity is quite appreciated by many of us i think.
I am also looking forward to TEAM OS3.0 stable release all the time, and will check the progress now and then.

OK just as Rick, I also give out my appreciations to KBill and other guys, here.
    Thanks for your great work!
