    Default Difference between accounts and contacts?

    Hi, sorry for such a basic question but i can never get around the terminology for this. I am a mortgage broker here in australia so i need with these types of people
    1 Customer - usually an individual but can be a company
    2 Bank - these are organisations that i deal with and usually have individual people associated with them
    3 Referrer - these are usually organisations/companies that have indviduals associated with them

    so for each of the above which section would they go in - accounts or contacts? the terminology we normally use in australia is companies/individuals.

    can any try help explain this to me?
    thanks
    Jon

    These all are the accounts for your company and the contact persons of these organizations will be the contacts for you

    accounts = companies
    contacts = individuals / employees

    bank = accounts
    referrer = contacts / employees

    customer seems the same as a referrer as they are associated with the banks you deal with. They could be classified as prospects or something within their contacts fields.

    I struggled for a bit, once you get the inner workings down, and the studio figured out it's not so bad.

    just my 2 cents, it is what you make of it.

    just wait until you need to figure out beans! oh my!

    i am still confused cause 2 different answers? under "account" there is a drop down box where you can choose "type" as "customer" but under contact there is no drop down box called "type" so if and individual customer is an "account" then how do i input there name, date of birth ect?
    thanks for your help
