disabling some features

Hi everyone, I am new in this forum. I wanted to ask the sugar gurus:

How can I turn of some features right now in my sugarcrm? For the first run I just want to have submit ticket and knowledge base feature of sugar.

Actually after I made the post...I was moving around the admin panel and found that out. I wanted to ask something else:

1)If I hide some tabs, can I get them back again?
2)Can I customize the landing page for every user?
