discard duplicates on import?

How can i avoid to have multiple contacts if i import from a csv file? The merge function could help?

On the Import Step 3 page you can select an index verification (Verify duplicate entries against selected indexes).
Just move the duplicate criteria (e.g. Last Name, Firts name, Deleted) to the left side (index(es) used).

AFTER import you can use the merge duplicate function to remove duplicates, but it it is much more simplier to remove your duplicates in an excel file than later on the web interface of sugar.

ok, tnx for ur answer, i've tested it and i see it could work, but not at all for me.
Noq my question is: there's a way for me to add a custom field in the list "Verify duplicate entries against selected indexes"? Cause in my file to import i got a unique ID, generated by company system that will assure that i can discard to import duplicate.
