I think this is an easy fix but I'm getting lost in my logic and not exactly sure what is the best way to get this done.

We need the DB to store phone numbers in NNNNNNNNNN format or longer if internation. But basically in all numbers. I will be using the custom fix suggested in another thread to make sure it is stored this way. WhatI'm having trouble figuring out is how to later read this number from the DB and in the detail view have the number show up on the screen as 555-123-4567 as the customer has requested.

I know I can add the customcode to the /custom/working.modules/etc.. detailviw.php file but not real sure what to put into that.

Any suggestion would be great. meanwhile I'm going try a few things myself.
