Display only opportunities between certain dates

Hi guys I want to display only opportunities from a certain close date to another close date. For example if I have opportunities closing on 5 6 and 7 september I would want to do the search to show opportunities between 4 and 8 september and therefore only display these 3 opportunities. I can do this on the homepage dashlet with the leads dashlet - can you do the same thing on the Opportunities tab or even the leads tab for that matter? I can easily show all opportunities on one particular date but can't work out how to go from one date to another date. thanks.

HI guys just updating this I actually can't work out how to display leads only between certain dates on the lead dashlet either. There must be a way to do this? This is pretty important for reporting to be able to know how many leads came in in a certain period? All help would be appreciated.

hi,
you have to add two date fields using studio saying date_start and date_end(these are non db fields).
then put these fields to advance search.
after if you are some technical in php , you have to replace some strings in Lead.php file and in create_new_list_query function.
