i'm trying to set up a "general status and notes" field that will be visible to our clients on our custom web based portal so they can track their status automatically.

at the moment it seems we have to split the statuses between the lead for preconverted statuses and in the opportunity for post-converted statuses. is it possible to only use the lead status custom field, but display it for detail and edit in the opportunities module as well so the data is consistent?
