Default do not email set in sugar but not set on export

We have a strange problem, When we set "Do Not Email" on a contact, it shows as set in the Sugar Interface, if we logout and login again it still shows as set, but if I do an export including that contact it shows as not set in the resulting csv file.

Over the last few months we have upgraded to 5.2c and then today to 5.2e but that hasn't resolved it. We first noticed the problem today before upgrading to 5.2e (we figured upgrading might resolve it but no).

Any ideas on what might be causing this, and why would it show as set when logged in to Sugar but not set when exporting that same data? I'm no programming or database expert but surely this is the same content from the same database just shown through two different interfaces!

    Thanks for any ideas.

just wondered if anybody had any ideas on this one.

Is the "do not email" field set in two different places in the sugar database?

Is it possible the interface looks at one place while the export pulls it from another place?

    Thanks for any pointers

can anybody even just give me an idea as to whether the "do not email" flag is set in more than one place in the database?

    Please......
