Does SugarCRM 4.5.1d support Basic Authentication?

I was unable to find this information in the manual or in the Wiki, perhaps anyone here knows?

The way the authentication works is more or less as follows:

1. User provides user/pass
2. Sugar validates user/pass combo against user list in Sugar database
3. If user is authenticated, session is initiated for that user

Assuming the session is not disposed, the user will continue to have access to the system.

You would need to change the way Sugar authenticates in order to get what you are looking for.
